Family Law Section Bench-Bar Committee Meeting 4/6 - Key Take-Aways

• The Milwaukee FCC will have Zoom hearings available as early as next week.If you have a case that was scheduled before the FCC between March 16 – May 15th, and all parties are represented by an attorney, the lawyers may request a Zoom hearing date.To request this please e-mail Commissioner Berrios ([email protected]) and copy the other attorney. This is optional. You are welcome to wait for your adjourned in person hearing date, but if you want to get in sooner via Zoom then e-mail Commissioner Berrios.
• Judges have started to do stipulated divorces by affidavit as previously explained. The judges will discuss later this week what to do about the issue of access to notaries.
• The only in person hearings going on in family court right now are injunctions. Read more...


Learn More About Your Milwaukee County Circuit Court Candidates!

In lieu of a judicial forum for the candidates seeking election to Milwaukee County Circuit Court Branch 5 and Branch 29, the MBA asked each candidate to respond in writing to a list of questions. Hear from Branch 5 candidates Paul Dedinsky (Incumbent) and Brett Blomme, and Branch 29 candidates Daniel Gabler (Incumbent) and Rebecca Kiefer. Don't forget to vote on April 7!


2020 MBA Judicial Poll Results

Each year, the Milwaukee Bar Association surveys its members regarding the qualifications of judicial candidates that appear on the ballot in Milwaukee County. The results are then shared with the public to promote awareness prior to election day.

The Milwaukee Bar Association has been the cornerstone of Milwaukee's legal community since 1858. The MBA is proud to have created a facility in downtown Milwaukee that will serve as a home and a resources for all of Milwaukee County's legal community.

Our facility donors helped create a space with state of the art meeting facilities that can be utilized by all. Donors also provided space for new attorneys to begin their practice with tools to support practice and personal growth.
