PART I: Transgender Issues and Impact on Families

Presenter: Dr. Casey Holtz, Milwaukee Area Child & Family Psychological Services
Dr. Holtz will walk through the various discussion points and processes families navigate as they come to understand their child may identify as transgender. Dr. Holtz will also provide developmental processes and individual experiences of transgender children. This will include education and discussion on appearance changes, preferred pronouns, name changes, therapy options, hormone options among other topics. Dr. Holtz will identify main areas of potential disagreement between parents or parents and children while providing insights into how to support families as they navigate these potentially challenging and emotionally charged disagreements.

PART II: Family Judges Panel
Judges Gwendolyn Connolly, Christopher Dee, Kevin Martens, William Pocan, Frederick Rosa, and Comm. David Pruhs, will give court updates, share important information, and answer questions.
