Gathering Information from Children About the Presence and Severity of Domestic Violence

Cook, Children’s Justice Act Program and Policy Analyst with the Department of Justice, Office of Crime Victim Services Domestic violence introduces a range of complications when weighing risks to children during family court proceedings. Eliciting information from children that can inform recommendations, while critical, is also extremely sensitive and complicated.
