MBA Juneteenth Documentary Screening
Wednesday, June 19, 2024, 12:00 AM - 2:00 PM CDT
Category: Events

Juneteenth National Independence Day is a federally recognized holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth is on Wednesday, June 19th. To recognize the holiday the Milwaukee Bar Association is screening the documentary "Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America".

This is a wonderful way to become further educated about the enduring legacy of U.S. anti- Black racism and our collective responsibility to overcome it. The film's documentarian, Jeffrey Robinson, attended Marquette University followed by law school at Harvard. Weaving heartbreak, humor, passion, and rage, Robinson’s words lay bare an all-but-forgotten past, as well as our shared responsibility to create a better country in our lifetimes.
