An Overview of Wisconsin’s No Exposure Certification Exclusion

The industrial storm water No Exposure Certification (NEC) exclusion is a valuable tool for industries to help protect water quality and provide regulatory simplification. Jim Bertolacini will provide an overview of the NEC program, how to qualify and apply, and additional resources for industrial facilities considering this option.

Jim Bertolacini is the Storm Water Program Coordinator for the state of Wisconsin. He is responsible for managing the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources storm water permit program; developing program policy and guidance; consulting with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other agencies on storm water issues; responding to public inquiries; and providing public outreach. Jim received his Master of Science from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs in 1991 and has been with the Wisconsin DNR since 1992.
